Program Description:

The CEO at Regional West required a seasoned IT professional with experience as a CIO and a Project Manager.  The former CIO had left and the EHR project was halted until the vendor could demonstrate ability to meet the needs of the organization.  The CEO wanted a “Road Map” for moving forward. His initial goal was to have the “where are we” assessment completed in one month.

There were numerous delays in the release of the EHR version that was to “solve all of our problems”.  Regional West would not go forward with the implementation until we did a site visit.  While waiting for the current vendor and evaluating two other vendor’s products and their “fit” with Regional West, other projects “reared their ugly heads” as well.  Meaningful Use Stage II was on track.  ICD-10 requirements were to be met with the new EHR, so new versions of systems that were to be replaced needed to be implemented.  The aging infrastructure needed to be upgraded and new security features needed to be identified and implemented.

The presentation will focus on addressing these issues and more. We’ve taken some great steps in developing a PMO that fits the organization.
