Annual Chapter Paint-A-Thon

The Paint-A-Thon is a program sponsored by the Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches. Through this program, over 3,000 volunteers from companies, faith communities and other organizations paint 125 - 150 homes in the Twin City Metropolitan area. The Paint-A-Thon is held annually on the first weekend in August (alternative rain date is the second weekend in August). In order to qualify for the program, homeowners must be either low-income seniors or persons with disabilities.

Each year PMI-MN fields a Paint-A-Thon Team as part of its Chapter That Cares Program. You do not have to be an experienced painter to volunteer for the PMI-MN Paint-A-Thon Team. Joining the team is a good way to meet other PMI-MN members while doing a great community service. Painting teams have 25-35 members, which normally allows the house to be painted in one day. Prior to the Paint-A-Thon date, a number of team members will be asked to assist with the preparation of the house so that we can focus only on painting on the Paint-A-Thon day.
