Program Description: 

Project Stage-Gating a large infrastructure project

The presenters will discuss the process, pitfalls, and potential benefits of stage-gating for a large infrastructure project.

Speaker(s) Bios: 

Julianne Motis
Ms. Motis has a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has over 20 years of experience in environmental engineering, public outreach, agency coordination, meeting facilitation and project management. Julianne’s skills include: resolving technically and socially complex issues, planning and executing complex projects involving multiple technical disciplines, permitting strategy development and execution, and meeting facilitation. She works as a Senior Environmental Advisor at Enbridge in Duluth on the Line 3 Replacement Project. 

Janelle Hnatko, CPA, PMP
Ms. Hnatko has a BS in Accounting from the University of North Dakota. She began her career in public accounting at KPMG, then proceeded to work in health care and for the past 11 years at Enbridge. She has worked in a variety of areas in project management including all areas of project controls (cost, schedule, risk, gating, compliance), contracts and integrity. Her current role is a member of the L3 management team. In addition to acting as a liaison between technical subject matter experts, who’s expertise is used to support Public Affairs and outreach, she also manages a variety of scopes of work that support the permitting and ready-for-construction phases of the project.
