Message from the President
While much of the state is suffering from icy-cold temperatures and dreaming about summer, I’m dreaming about fall!
Plans are already underway for PMI-MN’s premier Fall event–Professional Development Days (PDD)–and there are so many invaluable reasons to attend. The four days of PDD are packed with some of the most dynamic and esteem speakers the Twin Cities has to offer. Moreover, it’s a fantastic time to network with hundreds of project managers and explore motivating educational topics. Like I said, you won’t be disappointed at PDD!
For folks looking to have a more hands-on experience, PDD is an excellent opportunity to engage and volunteer with the Chapter. This year the new PDD Team offers a unique perspective; therefore, we’re eager to deliver one of the best Professional Development Days in the upper Midwest. Ruth Birkholz revealed to me what it meant to her to Chair and lead PMI-MN’s most prestigious event:
I feel very fortunate to be able to Chair PMI-MN’s PDD for 2019. It’s an incredible event for the Midwest Project Management community and offers value in so many ways.
Additionally, Ruth described her first PDD experience last year as an immense learning achievement. She valued the chance to learn from cultivated speakers on emerging project management topics. Furthermore, she cherished networking opportunities with practitioners from across numerous industries and building her skills as an industry leader. I’m so inspired by Ruth’s passion for PDD. She displays tremendous leadership in this role and demonstrates commendable project management ideals. As a significant leader of a project, organization, or team, you must stimulate inspiration, as well as show appreciation for your team members.
The board has a great vision for PDD: create a better-than-ever event to inspire volunteers and attendees to be the best project managers they can be. The board and I encourage you to join us for PDD this year, either as a participant or as a volunteer. Stay tuned for more details!
And if you need me, I’ll be counting down the days until fall.
The Chapter schedules events for project management professionals (members and guests) throughout the year at the following locations: Minneapolis-St. Paul; Duluth-Superior; St. Cloud-Waite Park, Mankato in Minnesota & Fargo-Moorhead, Bismarck-Mandan, Grand Forks in North Dakota.
