Program Description:

MIPS should be easier for providers using a certified EHR, and practicing Meaningful Use. As CMS moves to reimburse clinicians based on the Quality of their patient’s outcome vs. the Quantity of patients, CMS requests clinicians to collect the values for the following four variables, combine the four values into a sum called the Composite Performance Score (CPS) and report the CPS to CMS for analysis.
The four variables:

  1. Quality
  2. Clinical Practice Improvement Activities
  3. Resource Use
  4. Advancing Care Information (Meaningful Use)

The presentation will focus on the determination of, calculation and reporting of the four variables. We’ll discuss a CMS project that will provide mobile training apps, and we’ll mention
some of the latest updates to the MIPS program.
