Program Description: 

The changing nature of work has enormous implications on how we work, shape our careers and manage projects. Gain insights on how emerging trends like agile, DevOps, holacracy organizations and the freelance economy will impact our project landscape. We will explore how to leverage these opportunities and prepare for upcoming challenges. The session is filled with stories of what companies are doing around the world. Come, let’s investigate how we can stay relevant, be more creative and reshape our perception of the future of project management.

Samir is the author the book From Projects to Programs. He explores how project management is changing through his blog futureofprojectmanagement.com. As a consultant, Samir has worked with Fortune 100 companies to small startups and has been in the trenches of project management for more than 15 years. He has also led the marketing function at Trissential - a management consulting firm - driving thought leadership and introducing creative ways to market professional services. Speaker(s) Bios: 

Samir Penkar is an award winning program manager and the author of the book From Projects to Programs – A project manager’s journey. He is an avid blogger, a volunteer for the PMI Minnesota chapter and has over fifteen years of experience leading programs and projects. Kite flying, running and Indian classical music are his passions. Samir has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, various PMI publications and on Fox News TV. He is a big proponent of agile and has used the principles of agile and Scrum to improve health and wellness.
