The PMI MN 2025 Board of Directors elections are live!

PMI MN Chapter members are invited to vote in the election from 8:00 a.m. on Thursday September 5, 2024 through 11:59 p.m. on Friday September 20, 2024.

Be on the lookout for email communications from PMI Global with instructions for how to vote. Candidate profiles are available to review during the voting process. We welcome your participation, every vote counts!

The following positions are open for the 2025 election:

  • President-Elect (3-year term)
  • Director of Governance (2-year term)
  • Director at Large (2-year term)
  • Director at Large (2-year term)

Board candidates will be available to meet at the upcoming Military Outreach event scheduled for Tuesday, September 10th.  Event registration and details can be found here.

If you are interested in board service in the future and wondering how to qualify, please review the qualification criteria to put yourself in the best position to run.

(Biography and overview of qualifications)

With a career of 30+ years delivering business-functional programs, I have worked with multi-national organizations across industries, mentoring and training aspiring managers and team leaders.

 

Through the Minnesota chapter, I have volunteered with Professional Development Days, and Chaired the Professional Development Committee, giving me a great opportunity to meet excellent industry professionals, and improve my own knowledge and skills.  I have engaged with organizations and speakers. both local and international, and arranged monthly events and certification programs with our partners.

 

(My vision for the position)

As Director At-Large, I would like to be even more involved with PMI, for both the Minnesota Chapter and PMI Global as a whole, to continuously gain understanding of aspects of management and as well as contribute to the development and adaptation of changing needs and skills of Program and Project Management.

 

My vision is to create mutually beneficial partnerships for the MN chapter with organizations based out of Minnesota, and to become the primary source for supporting them with the latest development of management skills from the industry.

 

(My approach to leadership)

My approach to leadership is to develop teams that are capable of defining their own goals and means, while supporting and guiding them as a mentor.

 

 

Vera Anderson, PMP, PSM II, MBA

Running for: Director At-Large

 

I have over 15 years of technical projects experience in various industries including advanced manufacturing, industrial automation, and healthcare. 

I have led numerous innovation development projects employing traditional and Lean Agile methodology. I spearheaded agile transformation promoting agile mindset.

I have a Master of Science in Information Science, I am a PMP-Certified Project Manager and a Scrum-Certified Practitioner

I joined PMI – MN as Vice-Chair of IT Committee in 2022. Working with PMI-MN has been an exceptionally rewarding experience. As Vice-Chair of the IT Committee, I have been active in meetings and Professional Development Days. I have initiated Agile Forum within PMI Minnesota LinkedIn group in 2024 with intent to promote agile mindset and bring together local agile community.

My vision is to continue building a quality organization where people learn from each other, share their experience so they can translate their knowledge in building highly effective teams.

As a passionate agile practitioner, I believe my servant leadership style empowers the team so that they:

1) feel engaged in the management process

2) will be excited about their volunteer activity

3) learn project management in a volunteer setting. 

 

 

 

Terri Kimball, PMP

MTS Systems

Running for Director of Governance

 

I am a senior project engineer at MTS Systems with 30 years of experience in managing multi-million dollar projects and leading cross-functional teams. I have been a member of PMI-MN since 2000 and a continuous volunteer since 2001. I have held several leadership positions for the Minnesota Chapter, including Certification Program Manager, PDD Chair, Director of Finance, President, PMP exam prep instructor, and was part of the global team that wrote the PMBOK® Guide 5th edition.

As a current Director at Large, I have been using my historical knowledge of the chapter to guide board members in decision-making and working with the Sponsorship Committee to rebuild as we transition from virtual to in-person events.

My vision is to assist the Chapter in building exciting in-person events and opportunities for everyone. As Director of Governance, I will work to continue to strengthen relationships with all stakeholders and develop/update risk and compliance policies for the chapter and working on bylaws updates for 2025.

My approach to leadership is to listen and engage with everyone. As a servant leader, my duty is to help every volunteer be effective and feel welcome.

 

 

Miriam Isaac, PMP

Running for: President Elect

 

As a Director of Program Management with 14 years of experience in project/program management and strategic planning across IT, biotechnology, and healthcare, I am excited to take on more responsibilities as a leader with PMI-MN.

I have served as Chair of the Marketing and Communications Committee (2019-2021), Chair of the DE&I Committee (2023), and currently as Director at Large on the PMI-MN Board. In these roles, I have upheld our values, supported our volunteers, and helped our organization grow. Serving with PMI-MN has enhanced my leadership skills and deepened my commitment to our mission.

My vision as President Elect is to continue serving our members, volunteers, and community by implementing programs that engage, educate, and foster career growth in project management.

My leadership approach is based on:

  1. Leading by Example and with Empathy: Demonstrating behaviors and attitudes I wish to see in my team while understanding and valuing their perspectives.
  2. Ensuring Team Support: Creating an environment where my team feels supported and valued.
  3. Providing Growth Opportunities: Fostering an environment where team members can develop their skills and succeed.
