Development of the Duluth Traverse: Managing the construction, maintenance, and community relationships behind one of the nation's largest urban outdoor recreation projects. The presenter will discuss the project stages of the Duluth Traverse, including initiation, planning, design, and permitting of the project. Construction methods and ongoing management of the project will also be discussed, with a focus on engagement with the community stakeholders.
Waylon Munch has been a board member of the Cyclists of Gitchee Gumee Shores (COGGS) from 2013 to 2018, and Chairperson of the organization from 2014 to 2018. Waylon continues to volunteer his time as a trail steward and volunteer crew leader. In addition to supporting COGGS, Waylon works in the energy industry and has lived in Duluth since starting school at UMN in 2007.

The event begins at 5:30 PM with networking until 6:00 PM, followed by the presentation and Q&A until 7:30 PM.
The event is free and open to the public but attendees are strongly encouraged to register so that enough free food and drinks may be ordered. Signs will be posted to guide your way to the meeting room.
